The SARA LAMM-DRATC MemorialScholarship

Sara, A’H, possibly is the most perfect characterization of what a Lev Leytzan(er) is. Knowing her - If only for seconds - left an everlasting impression. She was an effusive, warm, loving, and funny person who embraced each individual encounter in a most unique and meaningful way.

Despite the challenge of terminal illness, she possessed an extraordinary ability to uplift anyone, for any occasion, with a kind word or playful gesture. Her untimely death on February 28, 2013 has left a deep voidthroughout the Jewish community, but her infectious love for life will not soon be forgotten. Sara’s enormous personality and joy in life inspired us to create this scholarship. It pays tribute to a woman who left vivid images of her utilizing laughter and humor to alleviate others’ pain.

Sara and Lev Leytzan: The connection:

Sara, like Lev Leytzan medical clowns, aimed to bring joy and smiles during life’s most difficult situations. Sara’s life reflected the very essence of Lev Leytzan: that laughter has the power to heal bodies, minds, and spirits.
